Today Chris’ key broke in the key hole (cue gasp).
So, being the independent, stubborn person I am…I decided to venture to Home Depot and get a new deadbolt. I located the appropriate hardware and made my happy way home. I pushed poor Chris to the side, determined to install it myself. I had done it a few times before so I wasn’t worried…then…
I realized that there are so many factors that go into replacing a deadbolt. A five minute project became two hours and…I needed help. Pride cometh before the fall, right?
Chris came in to save the day. One of the things I love about my husband is that he let’s me do my thing. He allows me to try without interfering. And he let’s me fail. This isn’t a bad thing. That’s the only way I learn, sadly. Stubborn, remember?
His sweet and gentle demeanor allowed for me to safely swallow the pride I had (notice the past tense?) and together we put that sucker together.
It’s okay to ask for help. Especially when it’s your significant other. Lesson learned…
